Position Overview: PCDC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Marketing & Communications to join our team and increase our recognition and pipeline with primary care and behavioral health practices and executives. The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with our strategic goals and target markets. This role focuses on B2B strategy, audience identification, market segmentation, and SEO to enhance our brand presence, generate qualified leads, and will be an overall contributor to revenue generation, growth, and impact. The ideal candidate will have a background in health care and/or impact investing with proven experience in driving successful health care provider-oriented marketing campaigns and leveraging data to inform strategic decisions. This position reports to the Managing Director of Strategy & Public Affairs and will work closely with the CEO and other program teams (lending, training & consulting, and policy/research).  Strong preference given to candidates based in, and knowledgeable about, California or the Greater New York area, PCDC’s two largest markets.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute B2B Marketing Strategies: Create and implement robust marketing strategies that drive business growth (through new acquisitions and reactivating lapsed customers) and enhance our market positioning and recognition. Focus on driving relationship building for PCDC with key decision-makers within primary care and behavioral health organizations, particularly FQHCs, primary care associations, and independent practices, including CEOs, CFOs, and Chief Medical Officers as well as impact investing organizations. 
  • Audience Identification and Segmentation: Analyze market trends and customer data to identify and segment target audiences. Develop tailored marketing initiatives to address the unique needs and pain points of each segment.
  • Lead Generation and Nurturing: Design and implement campaigns to attract and convert potential clients, focusing on PCDC’s target markets and audiences. Develop strategies for nurturing leads through the sales funnel and ensuring a seamless transition to the business development teams.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to understand the competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging opportunities for our target audiences. Utilize insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics. Review and develop strategies that build upon successful business development efforts, as well as identify new target audiences and new "ways in" to unlock them.
  • SEO and Content Strategy: Oversee the development and optimization of website and digital content to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic. Write content and collaborate with other PCDC content creators to produce high-quality materials that resonate with our target audiences.
  • Communications: Oversee all communications, including website, social media, and other content and message generation for diverse audiences, including funders, investors, and others.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance using key metrics and KPIs. Prepare regular reports and presentations to share insights and recommendations with senior leadership and business development staff.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business development and communications to ensure alignment and execution of marketing and communications initiatives, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Team Management: Build and develop a high-performing marketing and communication and cross-functional teams fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand management, including style and visual identity standards.
  • Systems: Develop replicable, efficient systems and processes to support marketing and business development activities, including management of PCDC’s marketing and communications contact lists.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the workforce. Masters degree in Marketing, Business, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in B2B marketing, with a focus on health care, financing, impact investing, and/or consulting industries. Knowledge of and experience in the New York and/or California markets preferred.
  • Proven history of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive lead generation, conversions, and business growth.
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets and deadlines.
  • Excellent writing skills, including proficiency in preparing information (in appropriate form) for diverse audiences and purposes; at least seven (7) years of professional writing experience.
  • Deep understanding of market segmentation, audience identification, and SEO best practices.
  • Creativity in storytelling from both a narrative and visual perspective in support of PCDC's business priorities.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools, CRM software, and analytics platforms.
  • Solid understanding of market research, data analysis methods, and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp, web analytics, InDesign and data visualization programs such as Tableau strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Work environment: Hybrid with business travel.

If located in New York or the tri-state area, travel to the PCDC office will be 1-2 days/ week, remote the rest of the week with business travel to target market regions and industry conferences throughout the year as noted in Qualifications section.

If located in California, travel to the PCDC office will occur several times during the year with additional business travel to target market regions and industry conferences throughout the year as noted in the Qualifications section.


Annual Salary Range: $175K-190K
